When it is Time to go

Not one for ceremony, pomp or high tea. Leave me be. I have no fear of siblings bashing over loot. I do not have enough to grabble over so I am free of would be heirs.

Tears may flow, weep if you must, but as for me life has ended as it should. No sighs nor tears from me when it is time to go. Prefer I that laughter spreads and lightens up the room, and smiles and good memories be shared.

I want no tears or gloom. Go ahead and laugh and tell the stories of the past. It needs be done. For tears and laughter are related so.

Death is but release from earthly meanderings.A new adventure waits.
This is not death, but promises unkept and meant to be.

But spare me this, the crowded room with soft whispers of time gone by.
I prefer to see my friends and share the past now, and so I plan to visit, laugh and share the good times we have had, not have them gapping at my silent body lain to rest.

Making plans for a visit to Ct. To see those dear friends I have clung to all these years. Some are up to eighty years, so it is time I go and sit to laugh and reminisce. best to you all, martyjo

Hi Dixie, you popped in while I was rearranging thoughts. Thanks. Going up July 11th to be with family and friends for eight days. Not enough time but it has to be that way. You Are Loved.

Marge and LeeJ, Thanks for reading. Yes, I have decided to take a break. Life gets too  sad reading nothing in the news but doom and gloom and being so disappointed in the powers that be. Need some laughter and silliness to find  my way back. Where are our leaders? Why has no one complained about that huge  monstrosity being build in Iraq as an American Embassy? Happy to see "The Enron guys" get their just deserts.  Now hoping to see that Abramoff gets his day in jail.

Locally  we have news that one of our service men, only 22 years old, died of cancer. His parents feel he got sick from the depleted uranium that is used  in armor to make it stronger. This story is going to grow as soon as more  stories surface.

best to you, martyjo

MartyJo,

I love your spirit and sense of peace.  The idea of death is not an easy one for me, and I struggle with the thought of it.  It is good to read your words; they seem to help me make a little more sense of it.  Enjoy your visit with family and friends.

miscellanea, Thank you so much. I had sent this poem to my family and it caused a small stir. Tom  looked it up in PIP and saw it was meant in a way to let you all know I was going off to visit my great friends in CT. Then he wrote his reply so I posted that.  Jackie saw his reply and dashed off one of her own causing what is now a word duel  because he quickly dashed off another one. My son in Ct. was concerned so emailed his sister to ask, "What's up?"  So she explained.  He is picking me up at the airport but I guess he still wondered. I did not intend to stir up a storm but maybe it was good as it got them all thinking! LOL
best to you, martyjo
