One end
where a pointed stick pokes
the eye and a drum plays on
into the late hours as a moth
chases the porch light.

The middle
A place of neither friend or foe.
Where a cast die lies dormant
and a crescent moon wanes on
the far horizon as a carosel
goes round and round.

The End
where a pause is heard in the
silence and a tail drags.
And a flattened can slides
into the gutter....guzzling a
stale beer with pretzels that
had seen their last twist.
