Back To The Drawing Board

I always return to sadness
but it has a different feel
home is never the same
once you've gone through the ordeal
of venturing beyond the fence
to find the greener grass,
upon realizing it doesn't exist...
wouldn't you know...you're out of gas

somewhere out there in happiness
I sought to blaze a trail
yes, I left my mark behind me
where, fatigued, I dragged my tail

now I'm back at point A
the infamous drawing board
broke, having spent more
love than I could afford

I know sometimes I'll wonder
about you, what you became,
it's a different feel of sadness
but sadness all the same.

Dear Passingshadows,

Life is a drawing board. We all have redrawn many times. Conclusions are simply the seeds of new beginnings.  Something tells me you could take this thought and go with it. Remember, it is the wounded who are the healers. BJ

You have that touch...I can only hope that
reality is better than this...If not,  here,
have a hug!

Yes life and love are like drawing boards.....I feel your words and relate very much - reading this poem was almost like reading exactly how I've felt for a while now.....love lost & letting go is not easy, but you expressed it VERY well

Sadness has so many different feels and levels to it....and yet sometimes it doesn't matter, because it's all still sadness. You are so right, Dixie.

somehow I get the feeling this road is here for all of us, and I understand that drawing board as well, only perhaps not in the same way.
