What say you crow?
Snatching morsels 'midst
natures beauty perfect.
Sweet tangy scent of
midseason, bears you high.
You've watched as the
cuckoo carefully conceals
her secrets in nests,
none of her own making.
Out of sight, high up,
you witnessed the fox
feeding on young rabbits, coming
to earth to pick
bones and peck eyes.
Seen days of sun and cloud,
rain and mist, dew and fog,
season merged upon season.
What tales you could tell,
if only you could utter words,
but raucus clamour is
the curse to keep your secrets.

''As the deer pants for steams of water, so my soul pants for you O God''
Psalm 42:1

enjoyed the perch view, Phil, and this
is the egg my meandering mind laid:

mindful, of the raucous ravens
ranting in nearby tree;
they mercilessly screeched messages at me;
notes landing with a thud
upon ears tuned in differently

a wider range of frequency
is on my shopping list

I spread my wings,
await my shopping spree
from my perch in yonder tree
which nested me

LOL
Phil, does this cracked egghead ramble of mine make any sense, or am I barking up the wrong tree? I am such a humpty dumpty some days.

Their black eyes gleaning, voices screaming...yes, they know the seasons well.  Enjoyed this, Goldenrose!

caw
caw
caw
and then she laughed
at the absurdity of it all
to mimic the call,
without the ability
to fly above it all
