Platelets of Tears

28 May 2006

This music of no sound
a deafness, silent to seek
Who would blame dimension
an emptiness, unable to hear

Her heart weeping, platelets of tears
corpuscles endangered, white to black
Bruises blue to shade, ripe as apple red
unaccounted forgiving, never to forget

Past an endeavour of yield
oceans to rhythm, memories trapped
Death, an unrequited tranquillity
mourning, neither to new day

Those drumbeats, jungle of trees
leaves of frequency, pain pure in touch
Music to her ears, gentleness outdone
a deafness, silent to seek
in platelets of tears wept

“In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping,
and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children,
and would not be comforted, because they are not.”
Matthew 2: 18 KJV
