Love's Invitation Senryu Your fingers trace me as your eyes drink in my curves you ask without words Melissa Long-Monette ~ Passing Days Senryu Days come and days go leaving us with miracles taken for granted Melissa Long-Monette ~ Heart Eyes Senryu See not with your eyes but look at me with your heart feel that I love you Melissa Long-Monette ~ Mirrored Truth Senryu When searching for faults look through your own reflection not a telescope Melissa Long-Monette ~ Life's Liberation Senryu Knowledge and kindness the keys to liberation open life's gold doors Melissa Long-Monette ~ T I N M A N Senryu Tin man never knew how lucky he truly was not to have a heart Melissa Long-Monette ~A senryu is a Japanese form of poetry consisting of three lines with 17 syllables in total; The most common format is 5-7-5 syllable lines. Senryus celebrate human behaviour OR tend to be cynical or darkly humourous~ Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. These forms of poetry can certainly give one great satisfaction to read...and write. Not only are there so few words, that when done well, like these, offer great insight! Well done, Melissa! |
