Buttercup

I tripped upon a buttercup
While looking for a place to sup
Landed under a willow tree
The perfect place for you and me

We laid a table cloth for two
Right beneath a sky of blue
And picked some flowers from the field
Those colors of a rainbow yield

The air was gentle full of spring
And I was happy full of zing
We ate and kissed and loved of course
Surrounded by the grass and moss

It was a moment of our prime
A moment for forever’s time
A flower placed the rivers flow
To ride the winds eternal blow

And it will stay the two as one
Until the end that is to come

A blessing to know
you've not far to go
to know home and heart,
yours from the start...

My dear, sweet sonneteering friend, your words of love for your Lovely, literally brought tears to my eyes. This is one of the sweetest and most endearing love poems that I have ever read.

Not only do you have the soul of a poet, you have the heart of one.

Loves 'n hugs,

Beautiful write and this particularly -

"It was a moment of our prime
A moment for forever’s time"

Oh, yes, for those times forever.

buttercups and cups that runneth over.  Sweet memories and good thoughts should last forever, like that song:  '...if love never lasts forever, then, tell me, what's Forever for?"

For some reason, this also made me think of that children's song, "Sweet Little Buttercup."  Funny, I can remember the tune, but not the words.  This really touched my heart....

Hugs,
Klassy

Sy,  I have always wanted to do just this,
but somehow something was always missing.
Time, perhaps?

A little buttercup meant just for two,
Pitter patters a heart, but that you knew!
