Eighteen minutes after the hour
and I might as well simply sneeze
because it’s so in between
the definite and the precise.

It’s a no time and nothing
like the moment before
every life saving breath I take
or a pause on the doorstep
before going out.

Eighteen minutes after the hour
and it’s gone like a flash of insight
with no bells a-ringing or cuckoo’s a-singing
straight to the depths of past
unseen, unnoticed, and un-validated.

It’s not even diarized for reflection after the fact
or given a future life by paging forward in time
but I stopped today; could it be I am praying
for order out of the chaos?

But now it is gone and I cannot say
when next I will stop to pray
because eighteen minutes after the hour
seems not to make any difference
to the definite and the precise
movement of human life!

A sound of Carpe Diem indeed!

Thank you, dear!

Ahhh, but that time wrote a poem within...a good thing I think.

Sunshine and Martie - thank you!

I don't know, Martie, if it's such a good thing really - ask me on the hour.

Sometimes I think my clock has stopped at eighteen after Honeybunch. Enjoyed! :-)

Thanks, Steven.  Yes, well, I think mine definitely stopped in that no time and nothing but I've learnt that, if nothing else, I am adaptable.     Survival demands it!
