Boots, (waffle stompers) crunch on gravel, solid, safe.
Course woolen shirts infused with the scent of fire
Richly timbered laughter, operetic in melody, cresendoes then swirls away.
Mallow, burnt black and foul with sweetness, bursts in our mouths.
Strange scurrying sounds bring us closer to the circle of knees,
and we watch, our faces already red with high air, cook by the flames.
We retire, but lanterns illuminate too much.
Shadows on vinyl, umfathomeable in their shapeshifting, deny us slumber.

we can love completely

I love this!
Oh, I can taste that burnt mallow now,
and can see those dancing mysteries.
WELCOME!
I really enjoyed your first post!

Oh that taste conjures up many wonderful
nights. Well done Ella.
