I went for a walk
in search of myself

Sworn to the quest
of finding my footprints.

Vowed to push on
and never look back.

But, everywhere I looked...
I only found fragments of
that which I sought.

I met others,
who journeyed

faster and farther than I,

mounted on horseback,
in search of a steed.

I met those
who's steps had
become labored, dragging.

Struggling beneath the
weight of stepping stones,
embraced and carried.

Now serving as stumbling blocks.

But, everywhere I looked

I only found fragments of me.

Exhausted, defeated

Disheartened by seeing
that I had come full circle...

Back to where I began.

I surrendered.

As I lifted my
bowed head,

With eyes no longer
focused on me...

All I could see...

Were my footprints.

No place to go...

Where I have not been.

All the fragments
made up the WHOLE

and...

I went for a walk.
