I have a place, a mindful place,
magnetically constructed
that draws me in when I would be
underneath a tree
in intimate embrace
with nothing in particular.

There’s a room for hashing history
with the why I did, why I didn’t,
splashed like modern art
over imposing walls
and a place marked spirit realms
misty by necessity
where I lose a clear impression
of who I am today.

A corner room for dreams
to turn them into fantasy
and a shadow room – yes, yes,
where silence rules the day
and speech a night’s foray.

A dress-up room - of course, of course,
where I change according to …
and a place of retreat
from the truth of loving you
and in the middle slap, bang, there
a great big swivel chair
to see the larger picture
I’m not yet privy to.

There’s a room for understanding
locked by the power in me
sapped from consciousness
by my humanity
and a water bed of tears
in my room for suffering
adjacent to the library
of archived happiness.

It’s a mansion of proportions
limitless like my thoughts
on wheels for easy movement
to wherever I may be
and biodegradable – indubitably
at the end of usefulness.

Welcome to “Helen’s Place”
but no one ever walks on in
to find out what I’m thinking
and that’s okay because ~
only love can open doors!

Thank you all so much for reading and for kindly commenting.  I guess our "places" are pretty much the same when one stops to think about it.

Yes, Martie - knock and it will be opened unto you but you may leave more confused than when you entered.
