Some say
mine is unsightly,
unrefined,

(garden that is)

the most unkempt
on the row of l2

i rarely prune it
nor induldge it

it merely does its thing
and i watch it dance
as it reminds me
of myself
(partially anyhow)

some are manucured
to the nines, fine
caralled in,
under wraps.

they grow them
eastern style
with little golden buddhas
sitting guard beside,

and some
are garden variety,
americana
the usual fare,

though curtailed,
proper
and within the lines,

as i said
mine just grows,

and does its thing
without a guide
nor tool,

my mother -
she can breathe
the wings
upon a wilted angel

as for me -
my talent?

i can do
this trick,

it involves
a golfball,

and summon
stray cats
from worlds afar,

my mom -

she sat kneewise
on a lawn of arthritis,

one summer morn

upon my little plot of turf
in condominium haven here

she planted
a supermarket special
end of season rosebush,

it come alive
every summer

i don't do a thing

i just let it be,

it's no blue ribbon lady,
but it just is,

the most unsightly
plot of green
in condominium heaven,

is the only one here
sporting the red ones,

hey Harry?
you next door?

you see em
through your
white picket eyes?

For some reason even when I try to let something die, they keep on growing despite my efforts to get rid of them...I had this tree once and it stuck around what seemed like forever.  Nice read Michelle.

If something is meant to grow it will I suppose - like love.  Enjoyed the walk around your garden.

The trick you do.....

Does it have something to do with a garden hose and a golf ball....???

Must be Dirty Harry.....

Lovely, reminds me of my grandfather who had the green thumb, and died thinking he would pass it to me...not to be,but his plant still grows to this day amongst my other living things
