Listening to every heart

Patient Lives

quote:
Be patient toward all
that is unsolved in your heart
and try to love the questions
themselves.
Do not now seek the answers,
which cannot be given you
because you would not
be able to live them.
And the point is
to live everything.
Live the questions.
Rainer M. Rilke

As the rose grows,
amid rock and soil,
blooming pink of health, yet
wanting more,
amid prayer and love,
the patient lives.

What remains unsolved, is how long
will the rose grow?  Newly grounded,
some inner voice says, forever!
and some elder voice whispers
Carpe Diem!

I did not know Rilke
before some one poet spoke,
asking, quietly, “do you know…?”
and made a wise introduction
of Rilke to Rilling.
The thrill began. Who could have realized
the magic?

~*~

Patient Lives….

Where, and When we stand immersed
in hearing, sensing, knowing, feeling,
loving.

Praying.

A patient’s life may well indeed
seek to live…
and then become a patient life,
which, when many readers,
yes, even you…
will seek to have such
a patient life, yet, and
if there are a multitude of you,
then there will be a multitude
of patient lives;

those who will spread among us,
seeding soil of pain with hope,
whose need is plenty; those of you who
will voluntarily raise their hand,
and say,
“this is my line, let me write it
for you”;
or those of you who will
raise a flag of honor;
or wear
a badge of courage.

Recently, it came to me, that for a
patient to live, one must know
patient lives….

and then is when we will all wear,
and perhaps bear
more than one.
For it is true;
as I know you do
just this.

~*~

For the special prayers
with a grateful heart.

Sissie

"A patient’s life may well indeed
seek to live…
and then become a patient life,"

You know I am seeking a patient life...each breath tells me to wait...it will come...the bloom indeed is fragile...and too soon gone, but what of the earth below it filled with digging worms.  Each day is a miracle.  Your poem shows the wonder of you....spirit blessed and a sissie extraordinary!

Rilke, Rilling and roses!  Life, love, tranquility, wondering and wisdom just don't get better than that!  Thank you for being and disseminating you!

In the times we cannot carry, only bear
with a hurt too deep to bury, two may share;
even in the darkest places, no despair
may intrude to mar their faces, for they care,
giving strength to one another, and a prayer.
Know this now, if there’s no other to repair,
in this hour I am your brother; I’ll be there.
