If forgiveness were a simple matter
a mere uncurl of fingers
would drop this hardness of heart
splat.
But not so.
It is more like a cactus
that has grown as did I
its prickly barbs
just inside my skin.
Removal threatens life and limb.

My limited reasoning
finds no plausible solution;
ignorance only pretends numbness.
But faith is strong and I trust in You
to work the best in me.

Though I asked,
I thank You now for not
yanking it out by the roots.
And when I protest
at the speed of the progress
please remind me Lord
that I
am Your
biggest obstacle.

thank you both......it has been long since I wrote, and I think now I see that it was a lack of honesty with myself that was holding me back......

I probably should read those last lines daily... but I'd still be a roadblock. *S* Beautiful write, dear lady!

YES!  Absolutely LOVE this....I think all of us can relate and I'm printing this out as a much needed reminder

Melissa~

Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world!

YES:

I put in my three cents for this poem. Have you sent it anywhere to be published?  I know that is a question easier asked that acomplished.

Thank you for this one.

Rick
