With story read
a song long sung

the night all put to bed.

Some daytime bled
a  crimson lung,

onto the stars I'd fed.

And dandelions and HOLLYHOCKS
.... onto the passing lane!

Where,

younger days in bobby socks,

never

knew
my name.

There was a fence
of hollyhock
that blocked my sight
of deeper locks
and peer I may,
no smile was seen,
past the glory
of the hollyhock scene...

upon a new wet sidewalk, I placed my hand-print and signed my name, like the movie stars in hollywood...I ran, ran, ran, with my shiny new quarter, to the ice cream store
the park was my refruge, new swimming pool and all, the baseball games & smell of hot dogs, the sounds of summer, knocking at my door, golden locks caressing the winds of youth...us kids playing kick the tin can, hide and seek...there was a moment in life, that time never took away, just refined the moments, when they came out to play.

Hugs, and thank you for such a happy poem...fond memories...and a delightful morning sunrise.

"There was a fence
of hollyhock
that blocked my sight
of deeper locks
and peer I may,
no smile was seen,
past the glory
of the hollyhock scene..."
yet, any mind, with wandered eye
and senseless peer of sight
saw, somehow, in bleak of night,
the hollyhock alright.

shadows they were..

shadows and wispers of another day and time.

Thank You Sunshine.

My Mother, did so love the Hollyhocks.
