When you were eight
you gave me a pebble
wrapped in bathroom tissue
tied with a shoelace with
a homemade card saying...
happy mommy's day.

When you were eighteen
you gave me a stone
wrapped in flowery paper
tied with a bow with
a homemade card saying...
happy mom's day.

When you were twenty eight
you gave me a rock
wrapped in a box
tied with a silk bow with
a homemade card with
the following words inscribed....
You are the one that raised me
from a pebble (newborn)
to a stone( teenage rebel)
to the rock ( man) I am today.
Thank-you mom for everything.
I love you.
Happy Mother's Day

With Love
Your Son

Nice progession in this poem. A pebble wrapped in bathroom tissue and tied with a shoelace really captures the nature of a little boy. Thanks froggy.

I love the way this poem builds, quietly and with the realisation of growing love from a son to his mother. A lovely poem which touched my heart and made me hope that my sons will one day feel like this....

A loving write honoring a mother, a newborn,
a teenager, a man! Enjoyable read. Nice to see

froggy friend ~

The tadpole grew up to be a magnificent bullfrog. This is one of the sweetest and most touching Mother's Day poems that I have ever read and I am tucking this beauty away for safe keeping.

Lovely! Lovely! Lovely!

Froggy

Don't hang around when he gets to forty.

You have made me think of doing from a Mother to her Son.
