A NOTE TO THE GOD OF MY CHILDHOOD

hello,
just a note
to let you know
that I have moved
beyond
the reach
of your clenched
eye

relax
your squinting
ear
for this
is the first
of there’ll be
no more prayers

and as
for miracles:
I am
the crop
that harvests
itself,
and a machine
is the third
brightest
object
in the sky

so
to the meanings
of amen
I add
good-bye

amen

Yet again, DAMN!
I find that you write about a wide variety of topics - but I find that 'religious' themes are most prominent. I think that many will relate to the message here, and what a strong message it is....great imagery, especially "the reach of your clenched eye....relax your squinting ear."

Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world!

guess God is sometimes presented as such, especially to children, ...sigh...I just come off of 3 years where if not for God holding me carefully in His hands, I would not have made it....sigh
nonetheless, powerful writing

No matter what we believe, shirtless, excellent writing cannot be denied.
Great work!
