Echo Back

My heart has reached for you this night
From all around me, echoes back
We are always touching

The curve of up and down elongates
In these times when we are apart

Somehow, time has been tender
Yet the loneliness I feel is deep
Though I could change it if I chose

What we share has the power to heal me
Surround and conceal me from the harsh

This is a real part of closeness
Stripped of flowery language
In the balance to euphoria

I have come to understand the mood
How feeding the yearn makes the fire burn

We are always touching
Symbolically and reverently one
Poking questions in the fabric of absolute trust

Each time, the solitude of night echoes back your voice to me
And I lay down in the strength, held softly in your heart,
To sleep

Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world!

Very well crafted poem brought to a fine poetic ending of:

"Each time, the solitude of night echoes back your voice to me
And I lay down in the strength, held softly in your heart,
To sleep"
