The silence,
dawn creeping into a window.
Smothering the darkness of
a half moon’s tuck behind a
mountain’s sheer enormity.

Where curling smoke climbs
a chimney’s wall, trying to escape
the confines of a cabin’s wall.

Where a poet births picturesque
images, silent sounds upon a
page where form becomes a mystical
piece of the mind’s conception.

The rush of a heart as a memory
accelerates the hands that weave
the potter’s clay, spiraling into the
air as each turn mingles between
fingers and eyes close in a moment
of imagining, a moment where
the goblet, half filled is slowly
drained to the last rivulet of a vine’s
labors.

For, from the labors of a dwindling candle light,
the flickering of an oil lamp....a birth brings
from moistened lips a telling sigh as
the coveted prize, given from one’s
soul is left upon a door’s step and
the giver walks quietly away as a tear
of joy shines in misty eyes.

This is essence

Best I've read in it's depth, it's knowledge, it understanding

To say I can relate to this, is to put it mildly

I, too echo Bodger's reply - what a perfect reply to a perfect poem.

Barry, lately you've been really impressing me with your depth of expression and gentle sincerity and wisdom....I'm saving this~

As exquisitely beautiful as your loon poems (and that is saying it all!), although you didn't put one into this one.  What an experience it would be to wander through your mind, if only one could.
