Taking Flight

I'm spur-of-the-moment
so take what you can get,
I may fall asleep afterwards
but for just a little bit.

Take your comfort there
where you sleep too,
I'll lock the door behind me
and take a piece of you.

I don't know why I come
or more so why I leave,
I don't mean to hurt you
or make you disbelieve
or put a feeling in your heart
when you wake up alone,
you say you won't let go
but for years you've always known

I love you just enough
to keep coming around,
even angels with broken wings
don't stay on the ground.

words that touched my heart for sure. Only they remind me of one of my own poems. Then it is good to touch a heart, even from afar

Sleep well, wake happy and know you do have a friend

Perhaps this might interest you Hidden Wings

"I love you just enough to keep coming around"...If I had a penny for everytime I've said that exact line to myself...Well let's just say I'd be RICH by now!   Thanx

though it sings a sad heartbeat
