Half a World to You
18 May 2006

When a heart stands still
in reaching out upon a wave
There a hand held open
fingertips to the out stretch

Wishing and hoping
she was there
Cuddled closer to warmth
two embracing in dreams of ecstasy

As if time no longer stood
hearts in rhythm, united in breath
Souls connecting, an umbilical to life
never parted, never to part

Or was this fantasy
a disbelief to endure
Wanting, yet unable to reach
Just another day of summer approaching
where winter was half a world away

“For she said within herself, If I may
but touch his garment, I shall be whole.”
Matthew 9: 21 KJV

"Wanting, yet unable to reach

~ An audible sigh escaped my lips as I read your captivating words...
