opposite side of night

ebony night sat down beside me
like recognition &  surprise
of an old friend
smiles flashed in the night
drinking the embrace of
imaginative madness
chanting immeasurably
a sense of well being
like
midnight
dampness
claiming the surge
of excitement
in this
savannah night

time stood lazily
on quiet rivers
that evening
spilling baskets
of luminous glows
like torches
pointing toward
the bright colored
foliage of
adolescent years

suspended

drifting  on…

lengthy strides of human nature
suckling on
what was
easy to appreciate
like tomorrow’s promise
sailing on
some tropical breeze
pushing us into
voluntary moments

knowing the thrill
of second sight
& truth

like ideas
personally taming
confidential mysteries
reflecting
a doorway to life & adoration
holding close

consciousness

compromise

like sculpted muscles
wondering out loud

yep…

we joined a romance club…

that evening

embraced the thoughtful mind of
some spiritual conversational brilliancy…

played a little music

lapped a full moon,

like water purring

against pink island sands

inspiration, outdoing itself

the only sounds

breaking still velvet air

were falling specks of fireflies

caught in the

downdraft of summer

night

dreams
    sights
           sounds
                  curiosity
wearing us like

the
