You Don't Know What Silence Is

You don't know what silence is
you don't sleep alone
you don't know the sadness of wind chimes
when the cold winter wind has blown.

You don't know the desperation
or the comfort of such quiet
you don't know the inevitability
of dying, and you deny it.

You don't know the weight of tears
or of blinding by the fire's embers
you don't know the smell of smoke
memories of those bitter Novembers.

You don't know what I imagine
you don't watch the clouds above me
you don't know what silence is
and you don't know how to love me.

Wow, achingly bitter and scathing - VERY well-expressed and I do relate.

Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world!

Dix.
I look forward to the day when all of these
thoughts are in your past and something
wonderful and special comes into your life.

You do write this so well....too much
practice..eh?

And he is the poorer for not knowing it, and you are the richer.

Wishing you the music of two.

Reaching my hand into his mouth
I want find where the wind came from

I, a rose, nighted
In patterns of night

In darkness showered

Shrowded

As warmth

Generated mist

And I

Always I felt

I knew

What was

True

I wrote this because I can see the picture you painted

Canvas changes, colours stay the same, yet as you move to look at the same picture from a different angle

You still haven't found

All that was

True

Dixie

"You don't know the weight of tears"  Tears do have weight, don't they....to each person and event that makes them, a difference.  And some just cant see the other.  Wishing you better!

Maybe I do, at least in knowing the silence, as for the rest, I'm sure we try

sometimes we feel that no other person

could possibly understand

and that we are alone in what we feel

trust me, i do know...

Wow...a touching write. In all of the
not knowing when I got to the last sentence it was a kicker but.....I felt all of your knowing and you are the wiser and the better for it!
