Memories of Mother

02 March 2006

One day like no other
a day God in Him did decide
This March forth of time
so He took way a life in Mother

No regret to those days borne
her motherhood an honour to child
No promise to understand
death to day of time decided

Her soul blessed in passing
the summer cast to autumn in fall
Precious and loved in waves of birth
her beach sands of iron to silicon white

Memories never to char of smoulder
embers of ashes to burial unscathed
Her heart tempered in the cauldron of living
laundered in God’s calling her home

“Heather Lillian Herbert (nee MacKay)
20 May 1926 - 02 March 2006”

“There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without,
sent unto him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and they
said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for
thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my
brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him,
and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do
the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.”
Mark 3: 31-35 KJV

A loving tribute to your mother.
I lost mine when she was only 46 years old.
Perhaps I shall post one in her honour tomorrow.

Thank you all for your kindness, the above poem I composed the day my mother passed away

another one I composed is about my mother and her children. I read at her funeral as part of my eulogy to her /pip/Forum94/HTML/003440.html
she out lived two or her children and counting a miscarriage before I was born that makes three

of the two poems I included in my presentation on my mother - including this one /pip/Forum94/HTML/003441.html
