April Showers

Each years April showers
Should bring in May flowers
And though I tended my garden
With nurturing care
Bringing the flowers to full bloom
The blossoms have often
Been picked by another

With this years April showers
In my garden appeared a beautiful surprise
A seed, which just seemed
To have fallen from the sky
A flower that touched me
One that has brought a sparkle to my eye
I’ve yet not held this flower
A flower I yearn to caress
My hands tremble
Anticipating the day I get to touch it
And ‘till the day arrives
From a distance
In my mind I will cherish her existence
In my heart I will carry her touch
In my eyes I will admire her beauty
