Boarded up entrance
now an exit
front door then back
on a sidestreet
narrower still
a bumpy lane
some wander through
the life on the side
still life
an address plate
a forgotten mail slot

restaurant back
dish for alley cat
life goes on up front
exits the back
the side in between

boarded up entrance
shattered window
makeshift shelter
barefoot feet
crossroads of a street
narrower still
life of its own
boarded up
tucked away
goes on

Martin, I enjoyed meandering down that side street with you today. I've been in a few alleyways like that, and often felt there was a hidden story. You've written part of one of those hidden stories.

How "mainstreet" changes . . .
An interesting view.

We all see the towns

And head back as fast as we can

To ours

And if we live there

No-one wants to know

You were a failure
