in the land of yore

We met, my Love, so long ago,
When youth was still a king;
Onto your slender finger I slipped
An infinite golden ring.

And times were great, and times were rough;
Tested was worth of the gold -
But the joyful “’till death do us part”
The only words to behold.

Ah, those were most wonderful years
Swept in a blink of an eye;
Still I am caught in the spell of your smile,
Wrapped in the clasp of your sigh.

Follow me into the depth of the sea,
Guide me into the sun;
Wherever our twin steps shall lead -
The twain shall vanish as one...

troubadour,

  I have been at Passions very little lately, but I think this is one of the sweetest, well written poems I have read recently.  When I am able to bop in here, your name pops out as a poet whose poems I must read...  I've yet to be disappointed!
