Your gift, the falling leaves, the growing grass, the arch of
a willow...a writer...a friend.   And each I hold within my
hands, gently clasping them that they might never fall
from my grasp, becoming lost...for I would grieve.

Your thoughts,   so wise and assuring.  So kind and
cheering,   so soft as they echo through my mind,
reaching out to just touch a hand, brush a cheek,
smell a fragrance that beckons me...calls me.

And as the night air cools, as the stars come out to
play and dance upon a comet’s tail....I sit....breathing
in your last breath before you walked away....promising
to again come to me...if only in a dream...a lingering
dream....that I might smile endlessly as I wait.

It is not often we stop to smell the roses, as our schedules are jam packed with chores of the day, but you have stopped to look and see, all things in this one person, who has touched your life so incredibly...

Amazing poem and such a happy read.

thank you
