Freedom of Choice

When it comes to abortion many say
that it is essential for the babys
to have the freedom of life (pro-life)
and many others say that it is essential
for women to have a freedom of choice (pro-choice)
So why, when making a choice concerning the life
or death of a baby, would some woman choose death,
when the baby, if allowed to grow undisturbed
would in all cases prefer the freedom of life?

would they James? Most would, I suppose, if life is good, but I would not say "all"

My daughter...how I love her, but she told me the other day how she hated me for bringing her into this world and that she didn't ask to be brought here...she's so down on life lately.

maybe it's just a typical 18 year old feeling and maybe just a phase...at least I pray, but I can see her point in a way too as I've felt the same way before.

a tough question here, James
one that only the newborn/unborn can really answer
but we know the unborn cannot answer this one
it's a horrid position to be in, either way
I'd say 'tis best to choose life...
but some lives are spent in such abject misery, who am I to say????

Thank you passing shadows, Midnitesun, 2dalimit and Lee J for the nice responses...
Passing I'm sure that many of us have wished that we were never born at times...I remember a time when everytime I layed down my head, I hoped I wouldn't wake up the next morning, to face more pain...
but we have our share of good days also...
Considering what you and your family have been through recently with the hurricanes and the stress that can come with that...I am not suprised that your daughter is worried...at times of stress some go to God, some to prescription medication...perhaps to treat depression, some go to alcohol and some go to illegal drugs and so forth...
I believe the ones that are strongest in adversity are the ones that have a loving and supporting family and friends...and loving, caring and sharing relationships...look for good role models...hoping that good things happen for you...hugs...and remember, when you go through hard times and it seems like no one else is there, that no one else cares for you...God does...he always does...James
