(Here's a new song I've written about the heartaches of seeing a pretty face every once in a while, and feeling some sort of special or strong feeling deep down as though you feel some sort of love for that face, but you lnow that someone could never be yours when you see that someone holding another's hand, etc. I've been in this sort of heartaching experience often recently! )

Unrequited Heartbeats
By: Noah Eaton

You walked on by,
stewed to the gills, the Avalon of my eye,
a warbling wassail under bluebell skies,
but in the back of my mind,
I knew you were destined to someone else,
and I know that’s how it has to be,
it does no good trying to alter destiny,
I just walk away, left only fantasizing,
writing your name on a piece of paper,
and soaking it in brown sugar and cinnamon,
to bring you back to me...

Only God knows,
I’ve beaten too many unrequited heartbeats,
unrequited heartbeats,
and sometimes I feel I’m starving the fever,
bargaining with the dreamweaver,
bargaining with the dreamweaver...

You were a pretty young thing,
a thermal spring effervescently in full swing,
all that you left behind was like a coffee ring,
somehow it feels second to lipstick to me,
and what hurts the most is null set regret,
conversing only with silhouettes of sobriquets,
where the podium feels just like a minaret,
where I’m too far away,
for anyone to recognize the beating of my heart...

Only God knows,
I’ve beaten too many unrequited heartbeats,
unrequited heartbeats,
and sometimes I feel I’m starving the fever,
bargaining with the dreamweaver,
bargaining with the dreamweaver...

Throwing modesty to the winds,
because between the cup and the lip,
there’s an aesthetic I’ve never tasted,
where prisms stretch like accordions,
for faces alone can’t ascertain,
they only make up key chains and portal veins,
wondering if I’ve ever tasted,
anything beyond legerdemain,
burning to rest my fingers on a miracle...

Only God knows,
I’ve beaten too many unrequited heartbeats,
unrequited heartbeats,
and sometimes I feel I’m starving the fever,
bargaining with the dreamweaver,
bargaining with the dreamweaver…
Only God knows,
I’ve beaten too many unrequited heartbeats,
unrequited heartbeats,
and sometimes I feel I’m starving the fever,
bargaining with the dreamweaver,
bargaining with the dreamweaver...

I liked the symmetry.  This piece has a certain ambience about it.  Thanks for sharing.

Glad I had a chance to stop and read. I have always enjoyed what you have to say or express.
