Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings
and the early edition skips a few days
because that’s how it goes when particular efforts
seek succor from trying and trying again.

So the early edition and perhaps rendition
of assisted and tutored love
is most of the time simply missing
and this is the absence of soul
that makes a house not a home.

And then when expecting the late edition
it lands with a plop next door
as positive proof that the try, try again,
doesn’t deliver this side of the moon.

It’s just like the keeping of faith
that brings the cake but not the sweetness
and if you want the cherry
you have to move, you really must move,
to the other side of the moon
where the early and late editions
are constant and sure every day.

I’m on a break from the try, try again,
and the late edition won’t come at all
but that’s how it goes, don’t you all know,
when love is missing from soul
and the cherry that sweetens unreachable
on the other side of the moon!

Beautiful Honeybunch, I've lived on both sides of the moon. One where cherries were the staple and the news well edited and always on time, might as well have carbon copied the previous edition. The other side where it's always dark and lonely and there is no news at all. But there is a place in between where the light and the darkness meet. Enjoyed! :-)

Thanks, Steven.  I guess we're lucky if we can find the middle line.  Here's to luck!

Honeybunch, no morning editions, no late editions, only the pits (both cheese and cherries), could make one definitely yearn for something a bit sweeter, like  honeycomb news with a sunshine editor, and delivery that makes the day hum.

Did I mention how much I love your work Helen... from either side of the moon?

Klassy - Thank you for the read (and hugs).  Yes, there are things in the world that make one yearn for ... something else.

The Lady - No, Kate, you didn't mention it but thank you so much for doing so now.  No day trips, are there, to that other side of the moon - "sort of like" pay now and forever keep your peace.

Outstanding write Helen.  I found myself reading over and over.  Profound, the way you expressed the details.  Sharp and focused.

TD - Thank you so much.  It is a real honour to have a piece read more than once.

Bluesy Gal!  - Hi!  So good to see you here and thank you so much for your supportive comment.

Martie!  Hey!  Hey!  Hey!  You're supposed to be taking it easy.  Awareness can wait a bit.     But thank you - I do appreciate the read.
