Earth Angel, this one is for you.You love the skies and heavens.

The Painted Sky

The evening drew near as the western sky
Seemed painted with a benediction's thought
Of gracious note. This heavenly scene caught
My mind and though afar appeared quite nigh.
A golden sunbeam sea flowed from on high
With darkened silhouetted islands wrought
Here and there. This scene painted far from naught
As I beheld the painted western sky!

I spied amid the painted day's farewell
Another scene beyond this mortal view
And vale, where's no sad crying of the knell!

I saw a golden sunrise of a new
Horizion where life's sunsets never dwell
And "silhouetts" fade and bid their adieu!

Amen.

Dear Iliana,

Thank you for your comment.  The heavens do declare the glory of God. This glorious canopy has captured the minds, hearts, and quills of men and women since we dared to look up.

Dear Poettothecars,

I thank you for stopping and reading these lines.  No, they are not perfect and I never claimed they are or ever will be.  I rewrite my poems countless times and each time something new appears beneath my pen.

As I read your poetry, I see you use the Bible in your writings.  O this is great, for this tells me you are a Bible scholar.  The Greeks defined perfection and it is symbolized in the circle.  Their golden age was their reaching "their defined meaning of perfection." But then, it started to decay and a faint memory of that era still influences our age.

However, western civilization was and is not based on the idea of "Greek Perfection". It is based upon the Biblical concept of perfection.  The Hebrews never defined perfection in an iced form. They simple said, perfection is the "best yet to come".  Of course, you already know this being a Bible student.

Scientists tell us there is no perfect circle in nature. It is always off center. Why? The particle of energy called the neutrino is the largest numbered particle. Each particle of energy has its mirror image in nature except one.  Yes, you guessed it, the neutrino. So the perfect circle is broken in nature, for this odd particle keeps nature in the process of becoming  yet something else.  How wise were those ancient Hebrews!  So the best is yet to be and I strive in my writings to be Hebraic and not a classical Greek.

Thank you for your insights and your gift of writing that blesses.

Dear Seymour,
Of course, but you may have missed the meaning of the whole poem and this is my fault in not expressing it better.  Please forgive my sin.
