Reverie
is a source of pleasure
when boredom places contently
setting in like rigor mortis.

She said 'mom, those were better days'
I told her there will always be
days of life where other days
are better. Reverie
you see.

Fond remembrance
of an old life.

She doesn't understand it yet
how many lives we go through
in one lifetime alone,
how many times we die
and are reborn into a different scene

one level to the next
with places in between

where we sit
dangling legs off the edge
of watching ships go by

dipping toes into
reverie.

Much enjoyed seeing you dip your toes in reverie.

Very well said, Dixie!  Yes, I guess we go there quite often.

This is my favourite of yours (one of my favourites?).  Love it, especially the end.

Dear Passing Shadows,

Dr. James Fowler is known as the author of the stages of faith development. I once had the honor to sit under this great teacher. I saw between each stage of faith, a dying process. I told him these stages in dying fit into his faith development.  He thank me since this was a new insight for him.

Yes, we "die" many times in life as we "grow up!"   But Dr. Fowler warns that between each stage a fixation may development and growth stops.  He has shown that institutions are fixated at the adolescent stage. In fact, he has shown that most adults are, too.  Why?   The dying process is feared and avoided.  Little do these know they are the walking dead.

Blessings on you!
