Eve & Howard (Just a Little "Pick Me Up")

Eve :

               you're heart's too complicated

               i need a guy dedicated

               to making me feel elated

                            that we dated

Howard :

               but Eve, i've waited

                         so long

              to sing my love songs

                    to your heart

Eve :

             but you don't understand my art!!!!!!!!

             Howard thinks to himself ; why are we always apart

                       on important issues

              i've cried in too many tissues

                           to let go now



              Howard reaches over and lightly caresses Eve's brow

              Eve struggles with her emotions ; trying to ignore the flutters and "wows"

                     tingling all over her body

[ Howard speaks ]

              you're the flyest hottie

              that could ever exist

                   your Sunkist

              is to sweet to be ignored



              Eve's feet were glued to the floor

              she knew she was losing control

              and if she didn't act quickly, Howard could touch her soul

              in ways that even her boyfriend hasn't

              why did she have to enter the Tennessee Beauty Pageant?

              everything was going fine until she looked at the judges panel

              and saw a distinguished looking guy wearing jeans and a flanel

                                   shirt

              and it was clear he wanted more than just to evaluate her performance in the evening skirt

                                 contest

              as soon as they met backstage, he kept telling her she was the best

                  girl that could ever compete

              and it had to be fate that allowed them to meet

                              as soulmates
