Little Butterfly

There was a little butterfly,
it landed upon my nose.
I crossed my astonished eyes,
as it tickled me with it's toes.

I gazed upon that butterfly,
such a fragile little beauty.
All fresh like the scent of rain,
what a little cutie.

It's downy wings brightly painted,
silky smooth like lace.
It seemed to like the resting place,
it found upon my face.

She folded her little wings,
as if to stay awhile.
And blessed my astounded heart,
with a charming butterfly smile.

I waited for a soft and gentle breeze
to begin to blow.
Then said to the little butterfly,
you know you have to go.

Butterflies are free,
as always they should be.
You belong up in the sky,
not earth bound like me.

Spread your painted wings and fly,
bring joy where ere you go.
Leave a dainty butterfly kiss,
on yet another soul.

.

Dear Steven,

Your poem flies gently as a butterfly and rested not on my nose, but heart!

Awwww!  Butterfly kisses.  This is enchanting.  May butterflies and fairy dust both land safely on your heart today!  For all their sparkle and pizzaz, they can do amazing things!
