WRITING FOR THE WHY

The tenured critics of poetic theme
Enjoy critiquing poems of this brand
And steed's breed. Ready with bright plumes in hand
And parchment, they speak from their academe.
"This poem wears a no-no rhyming scheme
And look, bred with "webbed feet". Our reprimand
Includes his trip to sonnet's fairyland
And mostly ... this drone robs hives of the esteem!"

Abound the critics with their whirling spin
Of pens. Yes, critics needed with their ply
On ones like me who "sin" with a duck's grin!

An amateur inks poems on the fly
And waits not for a critic's violin
To play since each writes for the poem's why!
