Starlight Woods

To lay my head upon the softness of home
I would carry, by the bundle, all your traveled miles
Setting landmarks at the cross roads in sated longing
Coming to the edge of a dark and lonely time

All the right turns have been made and mounted
Even carousel emotions unwound from musical note
Sliding down from the painted ponies in the lead
To my own wobbled legs, stretched and firmly toned

Looking up to the sky, here I cannot deny my heart
Ever curious, to explore the rapture of a dreamed destiny
Collecting the sticks for the great room as I go
Allowing plan to steep, within deeply colored arms

In the clearing, unfurling bedroll, I push stones
Layering the center hearth by my hands and my wishes
Making a gift worthy of your eyes, heaven’s compromise
Blue, in it’s midnight lace makes magic of warm regard

As I undress, contented with a hand hewed cupboard drawer
The moonlight is my mirror glowing my skin in silver smile
I have waited for your footsteps on the patient trail
Deeper, as you trek beyond the wind into my starlight woods

"I would carry, by the bundle, all your traveled miles"

I love the jewels you stow away in your poems TD. I covet them too.
