Another poem is under construction. Please read this and offer your invited comments. There is always a better way to express something.Brother John

A SPECIAL PLACE AND THE FEW

A wise one noted, "There's a special place
Some dare inquire about and just a few
Adventure the road.To pursue it, you
Quest quickly by those holding a proud mace
And wearing grave clothes, claiming special grace,
And guard embalmed conclusions. Their veiled view
(Sewn from old shrouds with death's smell thru and thru)
Blinds them like dingbats lost in outer space!"

"This special place for ones questing, of mind
And spirit, rests beyond drone's doodling deed,
With trite traditions trashed, left far behind!"

"This Promised Land invites a brave new breed
To its frontiers and warns: 'All doubtless find
The Cutting Edge! And then ... prepare to bleed!!'"

Nice one Brother John :-)
I'm always prepaired to bleed a little.... that way, I enjoy the good things in life a little more.
And yes, this is the place for a big international family.
Hugs Maria

Dear Passing Shadows,

I sense that so much of your thoughts are born on the cutting edge.

Dear Uriah,

Once one finds the cutting edge and bleeds, they may recede.  But to the true frontiersman, the reward is being there!

Dear Maria,

Again, you have taken time to share with me. I am thankful.  Yes, the great things in life are costly. Most settle for the "trash" and call them treasures.

Blessings on you.

Dear Seymour,

Thank you for reading this piece.  Again I thank you for your gifts and thru them, we "see more".

Dear Toerag,

I think I am saying what I recently read in another way.  You maybe know this words:

"Take advantage of your dreams,
Make all you can come true,
No matter how long it takes,
The years are very few!"

this is powerful, for if you have your eyes on the here and now and are fearful of bleeding, you might never see what is waiting beyond....you put it perfectly

Dear Windwalker,

"What do they use for a rsume
When asked what they'd like to do?
Looked at this way,
doesn't it seem rather silly?
No wonder there are so many Humans
crowding each here!"

I rolled in laughter, when I read your poem!

You have given me a great insight! I use the following in a poetical way:  Most have crowded in Eden, and few there be that dare leave this comfort zone for the cutting edge (new frontiers).

I am placing this thought on the back burner for I sense this is a seed for another poem.  Thanks Wind, I am in debt to you for this insight.

Dear Steve,

Thanks for your comments and thanks for your beautiful poem on restoration.

I see both as complements.  Few see that the cutting edge is the way to new beginnings. It requires, as you so beautifully have stated, insight as to what can be instead of the is.

Dear Luminosity,

"simple staleness
a much needed breath of fresh air
at the time it seemed
a good enough reason for the cracking
of the door
But sure as it was open
the spirit of unrest slipped in
unnoticed"

This is one of those great truths from that "Mystical Shore of Forevermore!" (Earth Angel)

Humanity, as a whole, is dying on stale air because they rather do this than have their comforts distrubed by the fresh winds which blow thru the opened door.  I see kindred thoughts in what you have said, really, in a more poetically way, than the way I stated it in, "A Special Place and the Few."
