Every stitch of her patchwork quilt
like blood spread over the floor
tells a story of no love and glory
yet still she remembers the sun
and the touch of passionate love
washed and spun till coming undone
by the throw of dastardly deeds.

Life should have got the warning out
before, long before, the coming of love
on billboards and placards pasted and stuck
from earth up to heaven above
but - did it?  Oh, no, she had to stitch lies
into the weave of her heart
and join the width of what she believes
with the length of make-believe dreams
to finally brand herself a fool ~
and everything hurts that burns belief
and blisters the edges of faith.

It’s not really and ever about energy
that mixes and matches patterned and plain
but a game for the spirits on rainy days;
check mate, my friend, and you’re out.

I still wish it could have been me
to arise from the ashes a queen
instead of a patchwork quilt undone
by the demon of mystical dreams!

Helen

You have always been you

I wouldn't expect anyone else

Your power in your words comes from your seeing day by day

I might have fights with Pip but they allow me to read your words and that enriches my life

Take care

Dave
