Hearts In California

Today our hearts are in California,
our minds are upon our friend.
As we pray in our feeble way,
for her ailing body to mend.

Please grant her the healing Lord,
that she has gave to others,
broken hearts of sons of daughters,
broken hearts of sisters brothers,
broken hearts of fathers,
and broken hearts of mothers.

All these she has sought,
to touch with a gentle word.
Heal her broken body Lord,
let the request of those grateful hearts be heard.

As I was reading all the poems written for Martie, I realised just how beautiful this community is. This isn't just some place to read and share poetry. When I was welcomed here, I was told this was a big family... but I had no idea just how loving and heart warming you guys were. Friends are precious and I can see the love through all the poems and prayers and good thoughts.
I am impressed... and very pleased.
It is good that someone like Martie can count on such a big "family" for prayers.
Count me in... I'm keeping my seat.

Steven...

Any attempt at prayer
is never a feeble act
it gets the heart a'poundin'
when such love is intact

And He hears the silent sound
the one that can't escape one's heart
words mired in great understanding
in aria of How Great Thou Art

Eyes will fall upon this,
from East to West, and glow
to know your quest is honest
and for reasons, just and so.

Our Martie? She will love this...
for all reasons, just and so.
