Travail, Heaven’s Love

20 April 2006

Would people know the pain in her eyes
an understanding, those of a heart which cries
Would they know of Yeats or Keats
or even the music of Mozart or Bach
Would people know what was real
her pain, the way it was with her in appeal

To life of a round about way, too young
to be in love, yet old enough to experience amour
What was left, what was to be right
that love, a desire, this girl to adore

So much for yesterday
for where was tomorrow to travail
Feet in shoes, tiptoes on glass
this gravel rash made bare
did they know her nakedness to share

Summer days and cold winter nights
would they ever know her being
Maybe not, perhaps never
was there really love
could that be forever

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (baptised as Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus
Mozart; born Salzburg, 27 January 1756). is among the most significant and enduringly
popular composers of European classical music. His significant output of works are widely
acknowledged as pinnacles of symphonic, chamber, piano, operatic, and choral music.
Many of his works are part of the standard concert repertory and are widely recognized
as masterpieces of the classical style.

Mozart showed musical gifts at a very early age, composing when he was five and when
he was six playing before the Bavarian elector and the Austrian empress. He died Vienna,
5 December 1791 and was buried in a Vienna suburb, with little ceremony and in an
unmarked grave.
