Mighty Hunter

There is a tale told often,
by flickering campfire light,
about a wily creature,
creeping in the night.

This creature roams throughout the world,
and is known by many names.
He lurks within the shadows,
just beyond the flames.

Some say he's big and hairy,
that he smells much like a skunk.
It is legend that he was once a man,
they say he was quite a hunk.

They say he was a mighty hunter,
with trophies on the wall.
Who stumbled into the forest one night,
to answer natures call.

They say he didn't make it back,
all they found was his britches.
They say that mighty hunter,
stumbled onto a coven of witches.

They say he drank his fill,
of their sweet moonbeam cider.
He was caught like a helpless fly,
in the web of a spider.

They say he haunts the forest deep,
the jungle, swamp, and mountain keep.
And everywhere he roams or lives,
dread and fear is what he gives.

They say that on some moonless night,
he'll cross your path and bring you fright.
It's said his unearthly shrieks and howls,
can churn your stomach...
unhinge your bowels.

I don't know where you might hail from,
town, county, city, or slum.
But you know the creature I'm talking about,
you've whispered his name,
and trembled no doubt.

I don't know what you might call him there,
and you know, I don't really care.
But down here in these hills and hollows,
we just call him...

Uncle Bubba. :-)
