I visited heaven one silent cool winter day
I saw you there awaiting my arrival,
such a vision of tenderness.
You were wrapped in satin sheets
I could hear your heartbeat talk
I reached for you and you smiled.
felt like I was in a timeless stream
I was king, you were my queen
the image filled with spirit
But, beyond elegance you looked afraid.
Suddenly! I was struck with shock as
the best of my friends, appeared
quoting the bard's black MacBeth
holding a sword above your neck.....
demanding I give up your sacred beauty to him
I reached for you across a canyon of expanse
I screamed to protect you....!
as streams of blood splashed up into my face
I woke up!
beside my favourite girl.
You gave me a wily smile and reached to stroke my face,
long strokes, long and smooth, full of lazy love.
All our years you'd proved yourself a lady loyal.
You whispered in my ear, familiar words,
you said, "come to me, I'm going crazy!"

I pulled you to my chest and kissed your words into silence
I was going crazy!
or was this still a dream?
at this point I manage to know I'm raising up to roam your meadow,
so this can't be a dream,
as I pressed hard against you, again I heard you say,
"come to me, I'm going crazy."

I could feel the flames of passion devouring my thighs
as your velvet skin lay exposed before me
the fire within blazing hot!
A droopy eyed smile filled your face.
Then you cascaded into my arms,
your sweet flavoured lips against mine....
suddenly I hear you loud and clear,
"THE KIDS ARE LATE FOR SCHOOL!"
and I wake up and see you, my favourite girl...sporting a crooked grin
"The kids are late for school!" you say in a lower tone..
now laughing, as if you knew, where we'd just been.

Perfect title and prophetic poem...

and if one doesn't end up grinning
at the end of this, then they have
no common sense whatsoever!
