5311 For the Love of Katie Marie 18 April 2006 There was a day she found a poets heart like all her escaping beauty was upon one page That tune of Mozart and how it did play wonder, satisfaction, who was she to know A woman to admire, a woman to adore who was she, a gift of God's own being For she was Katie Marie in her brown eyes of glory her beauty was the stars, her sky were her eyes to see Just to know her, know of her all those blessings God could give Any pain of each day, soft to her touch a gentle woman, a gentle heart to share A poets heart, a beautiful soul she fell from heaven and never looked back She knew how to be a friend even when the road was Auburn to travel © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares Ballad of Katie Marie Paint My Heart (Katie Marie part 2) |
