simple staleness
a much needed breath of fresh air
at the time it seemed
a good enough reason for the cracking
of the door
but sure as it was open
the spirit of unrest slipped in
unnoticed

innocent restlessness
cramped and stifled by
the lack of excitement
or so that day it seemed
the reason the blue sky screamed
and took my eyes to the sky
but featherless
my arms flap at my sides
useless to fulfill this need

mere irritations
or so each one seemed
but quick as I let them take root
they beset my movements
at every turn
my lack of flight now amplified

reason now refuses its voice
as my featherless limbs
hang despondently
that this is no fault of mine
I try to claim
as this spirit of unease
to whom I gave admittance
bit by bit
steals my delight

staleness or so it seemed
the reason for cracking the door...

Unfortunately... some things blow in through opened doors that leave you with no breath... just ache. *S*

This touches in so many ways, my friend... excellent write!

thank you my friend, unfortunately this is written from hindsight...and sigh, the door now doesn't even seem to sit right on the hinges...would that I had never....

~ Si triste. So sad. I could feel those disempowered lines in the pit of my solar plexus.

Sending you a warm hug o' love,

Excellent poem.  It worries me that you are so very sad.  Try realising the power and pleasure and wonder of walking - putting one foot in front of each other and moving the body from over one foot to over the other - and wonder at the amount of distance that can be covered!  So much safer than flying - and you can look around you so much more easily while walking than while flying - see dragonflies wings glinting in the sun, the colours of delicate butterfly wings, the thousands of shades of green on one tree, the buzz of insects, the song of birds, the warmth of sun embracing your shoulders on a winter's day - for a start.

earthangel, windwalker, owlsa, thankyou so much, I am not as sad as I sound, or should I say at least not to my knowledge...it almost seems odd to read that I am...maybe I am so used to it that it is the more the norm than not so
any way, owlsa, thankyou, I used your advice in the sequel hope you like it
