Mercuric are such memories, bright droplets, ever fleet,
to form it seems at random, little "snippets" out of time.
A momentary glimpse, quicksilver fast, I would entreat,
coincidental to this, are these thoughts still worth a dime?

That I should bid you linger even as you fade away,
a messenger who mocks me for my grasp is far too slow.
Those images you bring me must have something more to say
and yet, they dissipate and leave me nothing left to show.

As well as you, who leaves me guessing at which ones to heed.
The clarity of some versus the ones that wear a shroud,
'til tired from the expense of effort to get up to speed
self conciously I try to pull my head out of the clouds.

Where swift flashes of silver seem as messengers for these,
short stories based on snippets from those fleeting memories.

You don't seem too bewildered to me
