Paint Me In Oil

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Paint my love for you in oil,
like an abstract over time,
smoky visions, peaks and valleys,
foggy sadness and sublime.

Paint my heart in oil,
the colors suit it well,
blues and grays softly blend
with tints of opaque shell.

Paint my life in oil
so that my memory may live on,
you were all there was to me,
the oranges and the reds of dawn...
faded from the painting, gone.

The colors are so tender you would choose to paint your feelings, but I think you have an opaline heart, rare and full of embers and magic--

Your poem is beautifully moving.

What a pleasure to wander in to Pip and find this gem.  Very nicely done!  Ken
