HERE WE GO AGAIN! Remember before the Iraq War “We’re using our diplomacy.” Or, “Maybe we’ll try sanctions, To protect, The Home of the Free.” The threat of foreign Nukes And many tactics of fear To push us into one War When the threat really wasn’t clear. He said, “To protect our Country Saddam Hussein has got to go.” But we aren’t one bit safer Maybe worse off, don’t you know? On “the intelligence” we were told We sent Troops to fight and die When what he said we now know Was incorrect, if not a lie! Now the spin is on again And the sabers rattle once more For one who wants “Peace and Freedom” All he seems to really want, is War. Our Troops are at their limit And their “resolve” is wearing thin Especially when the COC Seems to want to do it all again. We can’t be the World’s policemen And force our will on everyone We must have Allies on our side To finish what we have begun. We don’t need to be the “Cowboy” Charging, like some Cavalry There must be some other means To end all this insanity. Our Earth is in a turmoil And we don’t go without blame And no matter what we do This Land will never be the same. We spent decades with the fear Of a Nuke War or attack And for awhile that fear was gone But now it seems, it has come back. So, let’s hope we have some leaders Who will use some common sense For if we try to wage another War We might find, we have no Defense. Del "Abe" Jones |

I believe war should be absolutely the last resort. We consider ourselves civilized, yet we seem to pack our pistols. Granted, sometimes one is forced to fight whether with words or strategies, but hopefully, not war. No one wins in that manner! Glad to read your voice again.
