A Morning’s Glory

shivering brave vines
crawl to trellis black
when wet grass
bends beneath feet
no summer sun
slid to sky just yet
today I paint my garden
dirt brown to pink
in tight fisted buds
too tired of
too much blue
it is just a blush
of truly missing red
for too green
I was born
a naked wrinkled
thing gasping for air
feeling without permission
having the capacity
to bloom

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

Helen

The Morning Glory is one of my favorite garden flowers, because it is so tenacious!  I have a feeling that you are too!

Morning Glory's come out in the morning then disappear the rest of the day..

I need more of a reminder.

love the pink being just a blush of red part...great line.

This is a very pretty poem.  Pink being my favourite colour of course.  My mom would like this poem because she is an avid gardener.  I could see her working in her backyard as I read your poem.  Visually stunning.
