Between the Lines

Surrendering

Slipping into my skin this day,
feeling a memory of love.
Cherishing those touches,
knowing the rose colored glasses
have been packed away for sometime now,
no longer needing them.

Thawing temperatures controlling
the imagination as I slide back under the covers
waiting for the sun to rise one more time.

Sweeping through the mindthoughts,
smiling at the different shades of you,
amused at what had been rearranged
to suit my will.

My own messenger of heart, spinning
the day to come, leaning on the invitations,
surrendering to a smile.

~ Loved those lines! You come up with such uniquely expressive ones!

"surrendering to a smile."Couple

Oh, yes! Surrendering can be so sweet.

Very beautuiful poem.  I love slipping back into the covers too, to have an extra hour of sleep or so.  lol  Very lovely poem.  Enjoyed it very much.

What a beautiful poem this one, "the different shades of you", I just loved that line, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
